Man airlifted to hospital following 'emergency medical incident' in Bakewell

A man had to be airlifted to hospital in Sheffield after suffering a ‘medical emergency’ at home in Bakewell two days after Christmas.

Four police cars, two ambulances and an air ambulance that were spotted on Stoney Close, Bakewell on the afternoon of December 27.

A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12.59pm to a private address in Bakewell.

"The caller reported a medical emergency.

"We sent two paramedics in a fast response cars, a medical first responder and a double-crewed ambulance.

"The air ambulance and the police were also in attendance.

"One patient was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield via air ambulance.”

Derbyshire Police confirmed that the man remains in hospital, and that the circumstances of his injury are not suspicious.
