Lucy’s African adventure
Lucy Wilson, who is working towards her A levels at Poynton High School, is fundraising for her trip to the east African country where she will be helping in schools, repairing homes and building water towers.
The 16-year-old will spend a month working in villages with more than 25 students from her Cheshire school, as part of a Camps International programme.

Lucy, already the holder of a Duke of Edinburgh bronze award, has raised more than £1,000 of the total cost of £3,200 for the expedition.
Her most recent fundraiser was a charity dinner in Indian restaurant Zayka, on Market Street, which boosted her funds by £310.
Last year, she raised money through running a stall at Taxal and Fernilee Primary School fair and she is also putting aside her regular earnings as a babysitter.
Events coming up this summer include a sponsored walk up Kinder Scout, a car boot sale in Chelford and afternoon tea in her garden.
