LETTER: Village is spoiled by a few selfish people

I am writing to say how my move to Derbyshire has been a learning experience.

I am pleased to have a bungalow with a lovely wood next door.

The village I am in is friendly and there is a community centre, doctor’s, chemist and a nice Nisa store.

The sad thing is that the village of Grassmoor is spoilt by a few selfish people.

The park opposite the infant and junior schools is full of food container rubbish.

The hairdresser’s door on New Street is broken down. There have been arson attacks and street violence and intimidation.

One family has been trying to intimidate me at the bus stop and when no one is around, they shout at me in the street. The police have tried their best but without evidence, are limited to act.

In my opinion, Grassmoor needs more funds for litter collection, good quality CCTV and a neighbourhood watch scheme.
