LETTER: MP isn't suggesting we ditch national anthem

With reference to Harvey Hill's letter lest week: '˜Why change our national anthem?' (Read Mr Hill's letter here)

Toby Perkins is not suggesting we get rid of the national anthem. He is suggesting we the English have our own anthem for sporting events only. Wales, Scotland and Ireland all have their own anthems for rugby, football and other sporting events, but sing the national anthem when required at UK national events. The national anthem would remain for national events.
