LETTER: Create a budget that puts families first

In rebuilding the economy and improving the quality of life for the citizens of this country the Government should introduce a families first budget.

The family has suffered from rising taxation, rising shopping bills and pay cuts.

This is unacceptable from a Conservative Government that should be supporting families not impoverishing families.

I would advocate increases in maternity pay and maternity leave to help those mothers who take time off work.
Paternity leave should be tripled to six weeks and paternity pay extended to three months. Labour have failed to support this.

The English income tax would reduce family tax bills by a minimum of £1,800 for a couple and £900 for a single person family.

Those school meal charges that cost the average family £1,000 per year and these will be abolished because state school meals should be free.

Families who have higher incomes and lower costs will help grow the economy and stimulate further job creation.

I believe the Government should back families all the way.

The Tories and Labour put families into destitution, their record shows us that.
