Leabrooks mum desperately searches for the woman who saved her child’s life
Last month Kat Slater, 30, was at her home on Main Street, Leabrooks with her husband and children when she went to check on her eight-month-old son Toby.
A horrifying realisation swept over her that Toby had stopped breathing and was slowly turned blue.

“My husband called 999 and spoke to the people on the phone.
“They were asking all sorts of questions about Toby and it was taking such a long time - we just wanted to get an ambulance over to the house as quick as possible really.
“That’s when I decided to run outside into the street and scream for help at the top of my lungs hoping that someone would be passing by that could help save my son.

“She put Toby on the bed and gave him mouth-to-mouth which ultimately saved my child’s life.”
An ambulance arrived at the home a few minutes later and paramedics rushed Toby to Derby Hospital.
In hospital Toby suffered another fit and he was sent for several MRI scans.
“It is not yet known what caused the fits.

Hide AdIn the midst of the panic Kat never managed to take the name of the woman who helped save her son’s life and she has been searching relentlessly so she can show her appreciation.
She said: “I keep pinching my self at how lucky we were.
“I would have taken her name but I was in so much shock and fear all my focus was on my baby - I just didn’t think to ask at the time .
“That lady is an absolute angel in my eyes.
“I honestly cannot thank her enough for what she did.
“I’ve looked absolutely everywhere for her.
“I’ve searched Facebook, asking on various local groups and pages. I’ve been around the school playground asking every mum and dad whether they knew who this woman was.
“I’ve even stopped random people in the street and in shops who vaguely look like her in the hope that it’s her.
