Kickers dance pupils score success in top competition

Dance students brought the silverware home to Chesterfield after taking part in a national competition.

Nearly 100 pupils from the Brampton branch of Kickers participated in the Association of American Dancing Troupe Awards Day in Blackpool Opera House.

Competing against more than 40 troupes in the senior section, the Kickers contingent won first place with a contemporary routine called Dream is Collapsing and a second place for a musical routine called Wild Party.

Up against more than 50 troupes, Kickers juniors took second place with a showbiz number called Seussical.

Kickers babes came fifth in their section.

Kelly Fogg, principal of the school, said: “I am extremely happy with how well the dances were performed, every pupil has worked so hard in preparation for the event and what a successful day it was for us.

“I am very proud, it was a real team effort.”
