Jealous boyfriend smashed ex's Playstation 4 after she was chatting online
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Wednesday, July 6, how Jason Samuel Munday, 25, of St Augustine’s Crescent, Chesterfield, remained friends with ex-girlfriend Nicola Brown but when she was chatting with someone from Manchester online he threw her Playstation 4 on the floor and broke it.

Hide AdProsecuting solicitor Sarah Haslam said: “They were in a relationship and police have previously had to attend the property to remove the defendant from the house.
“The couple has been involved in an amicable split since March.
“However, he stayed over with a male friend and they were all chatting to a friend online via Playstation and there was harmless banter with someone who lived in Manchester while they all had drunk alcohol.

Hide Ad“By 1am the defendant became upset because Nicola Brown was still talking to the male online and Munday became mouthy and nasty and asked her to delete the male’s profile.
“Munday picked up the Playstation and threw it and it could no longer be used.”
Munday admitted to police that he had picked up the Playstation and thrown it to the floor so it could not be used any more after the incident on June 16.

Hide AdThe court heard how there had been ten incidents concerning the couple on police records including call-outs.
Munday pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage after smashing the Playstation 4.
Defence solicitor Kevin Tomlinson said: “He wishes to apologise for his behaviour. He acknowledges he was plainly in the wrong and his behaviour was totally unacceptable.”
Magistrates sentenced Munday to a 12 month community order with a Rehabilitation Activity Programmne.
He was also fined £50 and ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £400 compensation.
