JCB fire in Derbyshire garage

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a commercial garage in Longcliffe, Wirksworth, after reports of a fire at around 5pm on Monday, January 18.

Crews from the Matlock, Wirksworth and Ashbourne stations attended the blaze, which was on a road between Longcliffe crossroads and Aldwark.

A service spokesman said the fire involved “one JCB on fire within the garage”.

A hose reel jet, a water carrier and four breathing apparatus were used to put out the fire.

It was contained to the vehicle and did not spread.

The stop message was received at 7.10pm.
