Homes evacuated in Derbyshire village amid 'major incident' – as other residents told to keep windows and doors shut

Dozens of families living in a Derbyshire village are being told to evacuate their homes as emergency services deal with a ‘major incident’.

Bolsover and Clowne Police SNT say there is currently a ‘major incident' in Model Village, Creswell.

Those living on Fox Lane, Firthwood Lane and Elmton Close are being told to leave their homes.

Advising those living on the affected roads, the local policing team said: “Leave all windows and doors closed and move away from the area!”

All other residents in the village are also being told to keep their windows and doors shut.

Reports suggest around five fires have broken out in fields near to the homes.
