A scheme aimed at improving the quality of life of members of the Peak District hill farming community has received backing from HRH The Prince of Wales in the form of a £49,000 grant.

The Farming Life Centre, a charity based near Buxton, is among 12 rural projects across the UK to share a grant fund from The Prince’s Countryside Fund.

Manager of the charity, Victoria Elms, said: “These grants will support the people, organisations and communities working tirelessly to preserve and ensure the long term sustainability of British farming, agriculture and the wider rural economy.”
