Gary Barlow gives hotel thumbs up

He is one of the biggest names in showbiz – but Gary Barlow proved he is still grounded when he signed the guestbook during a recent Peak District stay.

The former X-Factor judge was at The Peacock at Rowsley for one night on Sunday following the Sheffield leg of his near sell-out UK tour.

Following his stay, he took to social networking site, Twitter, to tell his 3.47m followers: “Top tip: stayed at the Peacock in Rowsley last night! It’s beautiful! Lovely people, fab for a weekend.”

A spokesperson for The Peacock, said: “It is great news that Gary had a lovely stay here with us. We are proud to be somewhere that attracts people of high status to stay.

“It’s the quality and the atmosphere that makes it really appealing. They might be big stars but they are treated with respect and can keep to themselves while enjoying the Peak District on the doorstep.”

She added: “For him to have gone on Twitter and said this himself is a great accolade for the hotel.”

She wouldn’t comment further on the former Take That members stay, but they posted a picture of the signed guestbook on Facebook, where he had written ‘Brilliant stay thank you xxx’.

It isn’t the first time The Peacock at Rowsley has welcomed famous guests. Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes and Dame Judi Dench have all stayed there while filming in locations across Derbyshire.

Gary Barlow concluded his tour last night in Bournemouth.
