“The last five years have seen major growth for medium wind projects here with capacity rising 60 per cent year-on-year.

“The new subsidiary confirms our continued commitment to the UK market, supports our growth strategy and most importantly brings us closer to our increasing base of UK customers who rely on our full after-sales services and operations and maintenance to keep their wind turbines operating at maximum performance.”

Vergnet works with partners and developers in the UK to provide high performance wind turbines for medium wind energy projects from 200 to 500kW.

Vergnet currently employs almost 185 people in its wind energy division with 70 per cent of the workforce employed in design, engineering and operations and maintenance.

To date, the company has installed medium scale wind turbines on farms across the country including Leicester, and Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands.
