Firefighters tackled a blaze in a derelict building near Chesterfield last night.

Crews attended the incident on Bole Hill in Wingerworth at around 8.15pm.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters from Chesterfield and Clay Cross attended the incident.

“The incident involved a fire in the ground floor of a derelict building.

“Derbyshire police were also in attendance,” the spokesperson added.

No further information had been released about the incident at the time of publication.
