Firefighters tackle blaze at Derbyshire industrial building

Ten fire engines mobilised to tackle blaze at an industrial building in Derbyshire this evening.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Services are tackling the fire at an industrial building on Chatsworth Avenue Long Eaton today (Monday July 27).

Fire crews from Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Ascot Dr, Stapleford, Highfields, Castle Donington, Loughborough and Mansfield are fighting the blaze and nearby residents have been warned to close windows and doors.

Road closures and diversions are in place.

A fire services spokeman said: “We are working with our partners from Derbyshire Police and Emergency Planning to resolve the incident with a number of local properties and businesses being evacuated while we bring the incident to the quickest and safest conclusion.

The spokesman said that Chatsworth Avenue and Barton Road remained closed at 7.30 pm
