“Firefighters used a hose reel jet, a main water jet and an aerial ladder platform to bring the blaze under control.”

The crew had to remain with the blaze through the night to prevent it re-igniting and the Environment Agency had to be alerted as a precaution due to molten metal and the nature of the blaze.

Firefighters were still at the site at 6.40am, today, on Friday, March 27, maintaining a controlled burning pending a further inspection.
