Fire crews rescue Wirksworth crash casualty

Firefighters freed a trapped casualty from the wreckage of a car after it became embedded in dry-stone wall.

The collision happened on Longbury Bank, at Whatstandwell, Wirksworth, about 3.10am, on Sunday, March 22.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle to free one trapped person.

Police and an ambulance attended the incident which was made safe by Crich and Wirksworth firefighters by about 4am.
