Fire breaks out at Chesterfield town centre clothes store
A fire broke out at a clothes shop in Chesterfield town centre his morning, prompting the building to be evacuated.
Crews were called to New Look on Vicar Lane shortly before 9am today after the firm alarm was sounded when a small fire broke out in the suspended ceiling.
It caused the first floor of the premises to fill with smoke.
The fire crews from Chesterfield and Staveley were able to locate the fire and used a CO2 extinguisher to quickly put it out, before they ventilated the building.
They left the building at 10.24am, however, an investigation has been underway to find the cause. The shop has since re-opened.
