Entries sought for awards

The Regional Butchers Pork Product Awards roadshow is looking for entries of the highest calibre.

It will be stopping at The Newark Showground on March 5 with some of the industry’s most respected judges in tow.

There are gold, silver and bronze awards up for grabs, plus the chance of earning the highly sought after title ‘Overall Champion for the East Midlands’.

Last year Jonathan and Emily Maycock, of Robin Maycock Family Butchers, in Holloway. won the ‘pork burger’ category at the awards.

Jonathan said: “I can’t believe our burger was judged the best pork product in the East Midlands.

“We know it is a great recipe, but to stand out against so many excellent entries is really quite fantastic.”
