Drop in anti-social behaviour after police work with school teachers and pupils in Whittington
In January, residents told officers that they were concerned about nuisance behaviour, with incidents involving egg throwing, stones being thrown at windows, shouting and also feeling antagonised by others on the street.
To target the issue, officers on the Whittington and Barrow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out increased patrols of the area during the evening and at weekends, and took appropriate action with individuals when necessary.

Hide AdPC Kelly Brown, and Headteacher Tracey Burnside, also arranged for a workshop at the school with 300 pupils aged between 11 and 14 about nuisance behaviour and the affects it can have on the community.
From October half-term until the start of February there were 137 reports of anti-social behaviour. This has reduced to a total of no reports of the same nature during the last month.
PC Brown said: “We tend to see a rise in anti-social behaviour during half-term, but I’m pleased to say this was not the case in Whittington and Barrow Hill in February.
“The pupils responded really well to the workshop and agreed to help prevent anti-social behaviour, improve their community and help educate others about the devastating effects it can have on others.
