Derbyshire youth club enjoys funding boost

A youth club based in a vintage railway carriage has received a funding boost.

Ironville youth club will undergo a full refurbishment after clinching £50,000 from the construction firm Scape.

The club, which is located on the park in Ironville next to the multi-use games area, will be used to refurbish its interior and build a new kitchen and toilets.

Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Kevin Gillott, said: “At a time when the Government is cutting our budget we are grateful to Scape for providing this funding. It will allow us to refurbish the club and provide more services for local young people.”
