DERBYSHIRE: Woman dies after road crash
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 60 year-old woman died after she was involved in a road traffic collision between Baslow and Bakewell.
The woman had been driving a Volkswagen Golf along the A619, locally known as The Thirteen Bends, about 5.30pm, on Tuesday, April 16, when the collision happened with a Ford Transit van.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The female driver of the VW Golf was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital where she later died. It is believed she was from the Bakewell area.”
The two occupants of the van suffered minor injuries.
A police collision investigation unit will be looking into the circumstances of the collision.
Witnesses are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary’s road traffic policing unit on 101.
