DERBYSHIRE: Special events to support parents

Sepcial events will support parents who have lost a baby in pregnancy, during or after birth.

Chesterfield Borough Council and Chesterfield SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, will hold the events at the weekend as part of an ongoing partnership to raise awareness of the issue.

On Sunday 13, Chesterfield SANDS will be holding a remembrance service at Chesterfield Crematorium.

The service will include candle lighting, singers and readings.

Next Tuesday at 6pm, Chesterfield SANDS will take part in an international Wave of Light event by lighting candles in the baby garden in the crematorium grounds.

The candles will be left to burn for an hour in memory of all babies who have died.

The event, featuring music, decorating lanterns and writing messages of remembrance, will be filmed as part of a national documentary about baby loss.
