Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit successfully prevents highway pursuit

Officers in Derbyshire Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit successfully prevented a high-speed pursuit yesterday (December 9) by boxing in a vehicle.

The incident happened on the A617 at Heath at around 4.30pm yesterday evening, with the police chasing the vehicle in connection to a wanted man - who was not in the vehicle at the time.

In a tweet, the unit said: "Apologies for a short delay earlier. Another vehicle safely boxed in to prevent a pursuit.

"Linked to a wanted person who wasn’t on board today. On to the next one."

This comes following further arrests made by the unit over the weekend.
