Derbyshire Police in Chesterfield to showcase Safer Together campaign

Officers from a number of Derbyshire Police branches are in Chesterfield today, April 11, to launch the new Safer Together campaign.

The campaign will see investment in the force with 120 new posts created, bolstering police presence across Derbyshire and in the neighbourhoods.

Officers are in the town centre until 3pm, where you can meet the crime scene investigators, dogs unit, roads policing unit and see the force's new drones up close.

A spokesman for the police said: "Today, officers are in Chesterfield to launch our Safer Together campaign, which marks new investment in the force that will see 120 new posts created working to improve police presence in neighbourhoods and bolster investigations.

"Come on down to see us, meet Jessie and Riley from Derbysire Dogs Police, sit in one of our Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit cars, see our drones up close, and have your fingerprints taken by our crime scene investigators! We’re here until 3pm."
