Derbyshire motorists urged to avoid A623 after collision causes road closure

A crash on the A623 in Derbyshire this morning (Friday, May 7) is causing traffic to build up, with police urging motorists to avoid the area.

The collision occurred on the busy road at Wardlow Mires, between Baslow and Tideswell, earlier today.

Cars are at a standstill, as the A623 has been closed with lines of traffic building up as emergency workers and police are on the scene, dealing with the incident.

Diversions are in place and officers have urged motorists to use alternative routes.
