Derbyshire man suffers head injuries after late night assault

At around 3.10am on Saturday, May 27, a 38-year-old man was walking through the Matlock following a night out.

He walked from along Dale Road toward Hay Leys Park from the direction of Monk Bar when he was approached by a group of four men.

One of them punched him to the ground, where he was then kicked.

He suffered head injuries and spent a night in hospital.

The group are all white, of medium build and in their early to mid-20s.

One may have worn a baseball cap.

The victim recalls seeing a couple in their late 20s in the area at the time and we would like to speak to them.
