Derbyshire man arrested over shooting
A Matlock man has been arrested for conspiracy to commit murder after a shooting in Suffolk.
The 20-year-old man, who has not been named by police, has been remanded for questioning in Derbyshire in connection with the shooting at Bury St Edmunds last August.
He is the latest in close to 10 arrests and is now the sixth person still in custody after a shooting which has suspects from across the country.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “Our detectives have come up to Derbyshire to question him there.”
Police were called to reports that a man ‘had been shot in the stomach’ on the evening of August 4 last year.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was successfully treated in hospital for his injuries.
Five men and one woman have all previously been charged with conspiracy to murder in relation to the incident.
The five men have been remanded in custody pending a trial at Ipswich Crown Court, listed to begin on Monday, April 11.
