Derbyshire folk recall the day JFK was assassinated

Residents across Derbyshire have been sharing their memories of where they were and what they were doing when John F Kennedy was assassinated 50 years ago today.

The US President was shot by loner Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas in 1963.

Three months before he died, he visited the Chatsworth estate to lay a wreath at his dead sister’s grave, which lies in the grounds of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s stateley home.
