Derbyshire boy hit by car after woman 'drove at a group of school children'

Police are appealing for information after a school pupil was hit by a car after a woman allegedly drove her car at a group of students.

Derbyshire police said the woman allegedly mounted the curb and hit the child after a verbal altercation in Heanor last Friday, March 17. Police are appealing for information after a car was in collision with a child

A spokesman said: "At 3.30pm a woman in a black car pulled up at a bus stop on Wilmot Street in Heanor. The woman had words with the children waiting at the bus stop.

"The woman then allegedly drove the car towards the children and mounted the kerb hitting a boy in the process."

A 51 year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

EMAS said they did not receive a call to the incident so it is believed the boy was not seriously injured.
