Derbyshire County Council’s annual Big Book Bash, which is for children in care and the families who look after them, offered a top line–up of children’s authors and illustrators, including Cathy Cassidy, John Byrne and Robert Crowther, as well as activities and workshops.

The event has seen more than £150,000 of books and goodies donated since 2004.
