Derbyshire accountants firm sponsors autism charity’s event

A leading firm of Derbyshire accountants has become a sponsor of a local autism charity’s next event.

Mabe Allen LLP Chartered Accountants from Derby, Ripley and Ilkeston have become headline sponsor for NORSACA’s first fashion show, intended to both increase autism awareness and much needed funds for the charity.

The event is on Thursday 27 March at the award-winning Stick & Ribbon boutique in the Nottingham’s Flying Horse Walk shopping arcade. The fashion show has been planned to support World Autism Awareness Day and is being hosted by style coach and Stick & Ribbon owner Pippa Rees for NORSACA the largest specialist autism charity in the East Midlands.

This sponsorship follows on from Mabe Allen’s support for NORSACA’s 45th anniversary ball last summer which was supported by celebrity TV chef Paul Hollywood star of the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off.

David Allen, Partner at Mabe Allen LLP, said: “Mabe Allen is delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile local cause, which does great work in the community across the East Midlands. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to back local initiatives especially those which make a huge difference such as NORSACA and its essential work with children, young people and families affected by autism.”

Established in 1973 Mabe Allen LLP is a well-known East Midlands practice which offers a comprehensive range of specialist business services for both individuals and corporate organisations. Next month two of Mabe Allen’s Partners are taking on new roles within the Society of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales. David Allen becomes President of the Derby Society of Chartered Accountants and Chris Hopkinson, President of the Nottinghamshire Society.

Sutherland House School is a specialist day school run by NORSACA, the largest specialist autism charity in the East Midlands, for pupils and students with autism. The school supports up to 94 pupils and students between the ages of 3 and 19 across its five sites in Nottingham.

NORSACA offers a wide range of services designed to support people affected by autism, including family services, a specialist school, and outreach and supported living services, as well as residential and day services for young people and adults with autism. It also provides telephone advice and counselling and runs specialist training for parents and professionals. It operates one of the very few autism-specific diagnostic and assessment centres in the country.

At the fashion show there will also be a raffle, prizes include lunch for two at Hart’s restaurant and a group consultation at Stick & Ribbon worth £400 plus a £25 voucher from Jolie Lingerie.
