“We want people to have a safe and pleasant time while visiting and not to have their trip hindered by the potential of theft and other crime such as damage caused to caravans or tents to gain entry.”

Simple security tips include:

• Removing valuables from tents and caravans and taking them with you

• Not leaving items such as sat navs or other valuables on show in vehicles

• Leaving caravans and motorhomes securely locked when unattended including closing windows and doors

• Pitching near to well-lit areas and close to any campsite CCTV if possible
