The series, presented by Jamie Theakston and billed by Channel Five as ‘Britain’s longest running and most watched police show’, has regularly featured officers from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit dealing with major incidents on the county’s busiest roads.

On tonight’s show, PC Ant Horsley and PC Dan Mitchell come to the assistance of PC Jim Payne, who is in pursuit of a suspected stolen car, believed to be running on false plates.

They are able to bring the stolen car to a stop with a box technique and discover an unrestrained two-year-old is also in the car.

After running a search, it turns out the suspect driver is already wanted for previous drug offences.

Traffic Cops – which has been on our screens for over a decade – will air on Channel Five at 8pm.
