Officers say a 23-year-old Chesterfield man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, driving dangerously and failing to stop after they were initially called to Peveril Road, Chesterfield.

A Derbyshire police spokesperson said: “We received a call just after 1.05am this morning to report concerns about a Ford Transit van being driven erratically in Campbell Drive, Chesterfield.

“Officers attended and located the vehicle in Peveril Road, where it failed to stop.

“Officers continued to follow the vehicle and after a pursuit forced it to stop. The driver, a 23 year-old man from Chesterfield, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving dangerously and failing to stop.”
