Police seized a vehicle from a motorist in Derbyshire after they failed a drugs test – and were found to be driving with no licence or insurance.

On Monday, September 2, officers from the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team seized a vehicle on the Hurst Farm Estate. The motorist was discovered to be uninsured and driving without a licence – as well as failing a roadside drug test.

A team spokesperson said: “We seem to be receiving numerous reports in relation to people driving vehicles without driving licenses, without insurance or whilst disqualified.

“We want to ensure that our road users are driving safely and abiding by the law and not putting other road users or pedestrians at risk.”
