A Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters from Buxton attended and found a large pile of smouldering rubbish, tyres and household waste.

“We used an argocat to access the site and fogging unit to dampen the fire, and followed advice from the Environment Agency to allow the fire to burn out. We returned to the fire yesterday (Thursday, 12 November) to carry out a re-inspection of the fire.”
