Jason Day, 47, of Netherthorpe, Staveley: Guilty of actual bodily harm. Jailed for 26 weeks as offence so serious – involving strangulation of victim while child was present. Given two-year restraining order. Made to pay court costs of £300 and £128 victim surcharge.

Rafal Nieziolek, 44, of no fixed abode: Guilty of assault by bodily harm and assault by beating. Sent to Nottingham Crown Court for sentence.

Jack Falconer, 24, of Hanbury Close, Holme Hall, Chesterfield: Guilty of possession of controlled drug mamba with intent to supply. Fined £108, made to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

Jeremiah Breen, 26, of West Lea, Clowne: Guilty of failing to stop for police and driving without due care and attention. Fined £304, made to pay £35 victim surcharge, £110 court costs and licence endorsed with seven penalty points.

Jailed for six weeks as offence so serious – lengthy and sustained. Given two-year restraining order.

Eoghan Grant, 21, of Rotherham Road, Clowne: Guilty of driving above the speed limit – at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour, namely 76mph. Fined £400, made to pay £40 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 56 days.
