Teenage boy suffers fractured skull after ‘fight’ in Derbyshire park

A teenage boy suffered a fractured skull in an assault in a Derbyshire park.

Police attended Sawley Park in Draycott Road, Sawley, at around 7pm on September 12 after receiving reports of a group of teenagers fighting.

When officers arrived at the scene, a 16-year-old boy was found with head injuries.

He told police he had been assaulted.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We want to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened at the park that evening and are asking parents and guardians to think about where their children were and get in touch if they think they were at the park at that time.”
