Suspects threw number plates and drills out of the window of their moving car on the M1 after their vehicle was spotted by Derbyshire police on the M1.

Officers from the county’s roads policing unit identified the Renault they were travelling in as being linked to to multiple catalytic converter thefts from cars throughout the region.

The vehicle finally stopped dead in lane one of the motorway. and there males were arrested.
