Smoke seen from roads away after vehicle caught fire in Chesterfield last night

Firefighters were called to extinguish a vehicle which had caught fire on a road in Chesterfield yesterday evening (April 19).

The vehicle was ‘well alight’ and smoke clouds could be seen from near Queen’s Park – when firefighters arrived at the scene on Goytside Road at 7.35pm.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze and make the scene safe.

There were no injuries according to Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, who left the scene after the fire was put out at 7.59pm.
