Seventh person arrest in connection with Shirebrook man's death
A seventh arrest has been made in connection with the death of Andrew Jackson in Shirebrook.
Police were called to an allotment off Prospect Drive at around 10am on Sunday, January 26 and found the body of 55-year-old Andrew Jackson.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “He suffered injuries that would suggest he had been assaulted and we have launched a murder inquiry.”
Since Thursday last week (30 January) six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 51-year-old woman and five men aged 26, 27, 37, 39 and 44 have now been bailed.
A further 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Detective Inspector Christopher Marriott, senior investigating officer, said: “This investigation is still very much ongoing and officers remain in the community gathering intelligence.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for the information they have provided us with so far and for the CCTV footage that has been given to the detectives working on the investigation.”
