Selston man handled stolen goods and committed driving and drugs offences

A Selston man has been spared prison after he was caught handling stolen goods as well as a raft of motoring and drugs offences, court records show.

Andrew Peter Butler was caught with a range of stolen jewellery, on March 23, believed to have been taken from an address in Sutton.

Records additionally show that Butler, 41, of Launds Avenue, Selston, also admitted possession of cannabis and amphetamine on March 31, when he appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on July 31.

He also admitted driving a Renault Clio without a licence or insurance in Kirkby on July 31, and a Daewoo vehicle in Shirebrook on March 2.

Butler was jailed for 24 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay £310 compensation to the theft victim, as well as £85 in prosecution costs and a £122 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for 18 months.
