Police use drone to locate 'high risk' missing woman in Derbyshire

A ‘high risk’ missing woman was found in Derbyshire after police used a drone to locate her.

Officers were dispatched to woodland in Long Eaton and, given the large area that would have to be searched, their drone was deployed in an attempt to find the woman.

The Derbyshire Constabulary Drone Unit tweeted: “The drone operator quickly spotted the woman and directed officers to her location.”

The woman was left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance paramedics and not thought to be injured.
