Police taser 'dangerous' driver near Chesterfield

A “dangerous” driver has been tasered near Chesterfield after refusing to stop for police.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit, which pursued the Seat Leon driver from Mastin Moor to Inkersall, said a stinger, used to deflate tires, stopped the driver.

The driver, who had no insurance or licence, has been arrested.

A spokesman for the unit said: “Fails to stop and drives dangerously. Stinger deployed but keeps going resulting in the front wheel being destroyed.

“Eventually grinds to a halt, the driver was tasered.”
