A police probe into a Derbyshire murder is continuing today after six suspects spent the weekend in custody.

Six people have been arrested so far over the murder of 55-year-old Andrew Jackson, whose body was found on an allotment in Shirebrook, on Sunday, January 26.

Mr Jackson’s body was found off Prospect Drive and a post mortem examination revealed injuries to suggest he had been assaulted.

Five men, aged 44, 39, 37, 27, 26 and a 51-year-old woman have been arrested over the death.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who heard a noise or a disturbance in the area around the allotments where Mr Jackson was found between 10.30pm on Saturday, January 25 and 2am the following day.

Residents with CCTV cameras and motorists who may have dash cam footage from that night are urged to come forward.
