Police issue warning after attempted distraction burglary in Dronfield

Police have urged Dronfield residents to be vigilant following an attempted distraction burglary in the town.

The incident took place at a property on Victoria Street at about 3pm on Friday, 27 November but nothing was taken.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “This incident was a distraction-type incident where the victim was distracted while two other people have attempted to enter the property.

"Although nothing has been taken, as they were interrupted, we urge that people are vigilant about cold callers and unexpected visitors to your home.”

A dark colour saloon-type car could have been involved in the attempted theft, police said.

They are seeking information about any suspicious vehicles in the area on Friday afternoon.
