Police investigate after ‘David Jason super fan’ leaves ‘very unusual’ items at historic building near Chesterfield

Officers attended Grade I-listed Sutton Scarsdale Hall on Monday after receiving reports about the bizarre crime.
While there, they found a number of flowers next to a copy of Mr Jason’s autobiography, which had been propped up on a stone.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary’s rural crime team said: “Unknown individuals pulled the fence down around the hall, gained access and left the very unusual items behind.
“We can all appreciate David Jason’s work but can we ask people not to break into listed sites to show this admiration.
“If you have any information about the David Jason super fan, please get in touch on 101.”
Mr Jason, 80, is perhaps best known for playing lovable rogue trader Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter in the long-running sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
