Police hunt patient who fled Derbyshire hospital in mask and gown

Police have launched a hunt for a man who was seen fleeing a Derbyshire hospital in a wheelchair while dressed in a surgical gown and mask.

Officers say they are concerned for the welfare of the who was captured on CCTV leaving the hospital.

Leeroy Connors, 30, can be seen wheeling himself away from Royal Derby Hospital while wearing a surgical gown and protective face mask.

Derbyshire Constabulary say he has not been seen since he disappeared from the site while being treated on Saturday.

The force are becoming "increasingly concerned" for the safety of Mr Connors and have urged anyone who has seen him to get in touch.

A police spokesperson said: "We are asking the public to help us find a man who has gone missing from hospital.

"We are increasingly concerned for who left the Royal Derby Hospital on the evening of Saturday 11 July.

"The only image we have of Mr Connors at this time is a CCTV picture of him leaving the site in his wheelchair.

"He is about 5ft 4ins tall, has short brown hair and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a hospital gown and had a black jacket with him.

"If you have seen Leeroy, or know where he is, please contact us quoting reference 157 of July 12."
