They include child abusers who have in some cases used their power as teachers or members of the police force to commit crimes against youngsters.
Others have subjected adult women to terrifying rapes and sexual assaults.
5. Martyn Armstrong
Derbyshire paedophile Armstrong, 50, was jailed for life after National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators identified him sexually abusing a toddler. Armstrong used distortion filters to disguise his face in the dark web images - but NCA officers were able to reverse the photo effect using a specially-designed programme. The 50-year-old, formerly of Derbyshire, was stopped and arrested by South Wales Police officers while driving on the M4 on 30 July 2022.

6. David Lee
Lee, 62, was jailed for 14 years after being convicted of more than 20 sexual offences against children. He admitted charges including rape, indecent assault, gross indecency and taking an indecent photograph of a child - some of which were committed while he was living in Derbyshire. The abuse came to light in January 2020 when a man and a woman told police they had been sexually abused by Lee years earlier when they were both under 16. The offences took place during the 1990s with Lee carrying out numerous sexual acts with both youngsters as well as raping the woman several times when she was just a teenager. 7. Jason Wardle
“Wholly sadistic and abhorrent” Wardle “actively encouraged” fellow paedophile Abraham Berger to sexually abuse children then commented on the pictures. Derby Crown Court heard how Wardle’s “truly despicable” crimes came to light after Berger – who was “extremely active” in paedophile groups – was arrested in London. A judge, jailing Wardle, of Derby Road, Heanor, for 10 years, told him he had caused harm against “real children” – knowing “full well” the other man had been abusing them. Photo: Derbyshire Police
8. Terence Power
Chesterfield pensioner Power, 75, was jailed for nearly four years after he sexually abused a young girl over a period of four years – blaming her for his “predatory instincts”.
Derby Crown Court heard how, after blaming herself for years, she plucked up the courage to report what happened.
However during his police interview Power put the blame for what happened on the young girl, describing her as “wayward and promiscuous”. Photo: Derbyshire Police
